Enrichment
Aims of Enrichment at St Botolph’s CE Academy
The aim of Enrichment is to provide additional opportunities for pupils to develop as rounded individuals, in line with the vision of St Botolph’s CE Academy; find your fantastic.
Enrichment activities are in addition to the taught Personal Development curriculum and offer flexible enrichment opportunities that allow us to respond to the needs of our pupils and build upon the taught curriculum. We believe that enrichment is something that all pupils should be able to benefit from and helps to make subjects more meaningful, memorable and rewarding. This is because enrichment activities allow children to explore subjects in greater depth and use their imagination in ways that they may not be able to do in traditional lessons.
In practice this means:
- Community links -community links are carefully mapped out across the year and include visits to and from our local churches ( St Botolph’s Church, Elim Church and Methodist). We also have links with local companies ( Amazon and Enfinium) who have supported the school with our whole school reading focus.
- Trips and educational experiences mapped out across the year for every key stage. Each child will get to go on an educational visit or experience an educational visit at least once per term.
- A range of both lunch time and after school clubs on offer for all pupils.
- Music and French lessons from specialist staff
